I have a love of all things Greek. So, here I am, Greek Goddess for the day. I knew, as soon as I heard about the project what my theme would be. Olive leaves and branches are widely used to signify the end of conflicts, hope and new beginnings. If an olive tree is cut down to the stump, it has a remarkable ability to grow new shoots from its roots. This 'new growth' symbolises that while part of me was removed, my spirit remains deeply rooted and capable of blossoming again. This sums up exactly how I feel about life after breast cancer. I was out of my comfort zone at the start of the photoshoot as the struggles with body image after cancer treatment are a complicated landscape of feelings, changes and scars. Alison and Anya worked their magic and transformed me exactly as I had imagined. Stepping out in front of the camera is an act of vulnerability, but in doing so, I've turned that vulnerability into visibility. I have a beautiful set of of photographs of which I am proud of and special memories of the whole experience.
Ευχαριστώ πολύ!
